Hi guys! Just a heads up here! I currently don’t have my PC, that’s why there hasn’t been any new releases lately. Thankfully I have everything backed up, so it shouldn’t affect my projects. I will be back on track as soon as I get my new machine.
Thanks for following my releases and I hope to be back soon!
Oh, and I’m also working on an older project (HINT: see the projects page). I’m still experimenting with some filters, so it may take a while to actually be released, but I want to go with it until the end!
That’s it for now! I could barely hold my breath watching this episode, so rest assured that more releases are coming very soon.
On another note, I will be seeding the previous episodes for those who don’t have them already. No changes have been made, though. Please let me know if you find any mistakes so I can correct them in the final batch.
Kana-chan is angry because this took so long to be released! Anyway, episode 5 is encoded, I just need to edit the subs and do some QCing.
I’m NOT dropping Regios after all. Regardless of its DVD source, it’s a good encode and I don’t want to drop anything.
As for the episode itself, it was pretty fun. It’s hard to believe the retail subs had so many errors, though. They mistranslated a few sentences and some lines just didn’t match the dialogue. I’m trying to correct it all and doing some other editing.
So, much has been said about the quality of my release of Koukaku no Regios and I’m not sure if I should continue it or not.
Taka‘s release has been around for a while and has proven to be far better than mine, so I’m not sure if there is any point for me to keep doing Regios. I’m posting a few screenshots to compare video quality (DVD version has been scaled to 720p for comparison purposes):
(Taka’s 720p HDTV release)
(Original R1 DVD, uncompressed)
(My 10-bit encoding)
As you can (probably) see, my encode is true to its DVD source. I think I managed to keep a good quality overall and there aren’t many artifacts, but the picture itself doesn’t seem as sharp as Taka’s HDTV release. Following denpa’s advice (thanks!) I tried to experiment with some filters to make it sharper, but I still thought it was lacking somehow. Also, unlike FMP, Regios uses Vob Subs from the DVD, so I may not have given it my best.
Hence the poll above. It’s up to you guys to decide whether I should continue with the series. Thank you for your feedback!
Full Metal Panic 04 is almost done. I’m currently encoding a movie that will be released soon!
I’m sorry for all the delay! Nothing will be dropped and I will keep working hard on my projects.
This is a really nice episode and I hope you like it! Thanks for all your comments and feedback. I really appreciate it. Please tell me if you find any errors and I will correct them in the final batch.
